Our Networks and Technology practice focuses on the more technical aspects of our consulting work, such as the implementation of mediation and provisioning systems. We can bring a wide range of technical skills (such as system administration, scripting, database administration and comms knowledge) to bear on operational and performance problems. Work ranges from the strategic — advising on system architectures and technology — to the hands-on, designing and developing interfaces to allow systems to communicate. The examples below help to illustrate the range of our work.
Voice over IP and Next Generation Networks
Cartesian prides itself on staying at the forefront of technological change. Amongst our “firsts”, was undertaking key aspects of the first commercial VoIP deployment in Europe.
We have also delivered a number of IP mediation implementations in Europe, and globally, which have enabled operators to bill for a range of IP usage and content streams. These technologies are at the heart of the Next Generation Network, the latest paradigm shift in telecommunications.
Mediation and Provisioning
We have an unparalleled track record of implementing, customising and consolidating mediation and provisioning solutions. These systems are at the core of an operator’s systems infrastructure and have a major impact on the ability to launch new services quickly, adhere to regulatory requirements (such as emergency services provision and number portability) and to ensure that customers can be billed accurately. Our knowledge ranges from the complex communications protocols with the network elements or third party providers to the business logic that needs to be configured to achieve the operator's objectives. Our experience covers fixed line, cable, mobile and IP operations.
