T–Mobile (UK) announce the successful delivery of Ascertain RDA from Cartesian
T–Mobile (UK) and Cartesian are delighted to announce that they have successfully completed implementation of Ascertain RDA v3.0 under the T–Mobile (UK) led Customer Data Integrity (CDI) project. This was the first contract for a revenue assurance tool to be awarded externally by T–Mobile (UK), and the first time they have worked with revenue assurance specialists Cartesian.
Ascertain Reference Data Audit (RDA) performs reconciliation of data extracted from network elements such as HLRs, prepay and Value Added Service platforms with customer records on the billing and rating systems.
RDA reports on data integrity issues within and between the Ericsson AXE HLR, Nexus UDS pre-pay system, SE-VAS platform and the Excalibur Customer Management and Convergys RATER platforms. The aim of the CDI project is to provide a complete data integrity audit of all T–Mobile (UK) (including MVNO) subscribers every month. A number of technical challenges were overcome to achieve this, not least that the customer base is spread across the entire network due to mobile number portability and that RDA is required to perform high volume data extracts from more than 45 HLRs on a daily basis. In order to complete the numerous reconciliation reports required by different T–Mobile (UK) departments each month, RDA was required to perform complex data synchronisation between the network source systems (HLR, Pre-pay, VAS) and rating & billing systems.
Julian Anthony, T–Mobile (UK)’s Traffic Assurance Manager, said, “For T–Mobile (UK), great service for our customers is paramount. Ensuring customer data integrity is a key part of assuring this great service. In addition, using Ascertain RDA has benefits for us in terms of meeting Ofcom approval requirements, increasing revenue and reducing operational cost. This solution improves the current in-house reconciliation tools and processes significantly. This was an excellent team effort involving key representatives across the business working in partnership with Cartesian and requiring the collaboration of suppliers including Ericsson, Amdocs, Convergys, and T-Systems”
Cartesian’s Managing Director Alan Strong said: “I applaud T–Mobile (UK) in their vision of enterprise wide data integrity. It clearly demonstrates T–Mobile (UK)’s continuing commitment to stay at the forefront of Revenue Assurance best practice. The fact that Cartesian were selected from an extensive list of vendors, following a challenging proof of concept phase, demonstrates the capability of our Ascertain product set and builds on our rapidly growing reputation as a market leader in revenue assurance.”
