Cartesian releases Inter Operator Provisioning (IOP) 6.0 with LLU support
IOP provides full end-to-end order fulfilment capability for services such as LLU (Local Loop Unbundling), WLR (Wholesale Line Rental) and CPS (Carrier Pre-Select). Specifically, as it has been designed from the ground up to fit into SOA environments, IOP can be integrated with a telco's own messaging and workflow systems to orchestrate provisioning requests to third party providers. The system manages orders from the presale stage (availability checking), tracks progress of in-flight orders and completes the provisioning request with the third party provider.
IOP 6.0 includes a range of functional enhancements which reflect the evolution of the system in support of our customers' requirements. Notably, it provides significant new functionality in areas such as:
- support for LLU provisioning for Shared Metallic Path Fibre (SMPF)
- greatly enhanced user defined reporting capabilities including the business intelligence reporting tool and analysis functionality
The system features
- Java Messaging Services (JMS)
- graphical visualisation of end-to-end systems and processes
IOP 6.0 is based on J2EE 5 and is supported on all standard Ascertain hardware/system software platforms. As is standard practice with Ascertain modules, the two previous major versions of the software will continue to be supported.
Commenting on this significant achievement, Jim Baker, Cartesian's CTO said, "Inter Operator Provisioning is one of the key components in providing the advanced services offered by UK service providers today. We believe that IOP 6.0 is unique in terms of the flexibility and functionality it offers. Furthermore, Cartesian's consultancy group has both broad and deep experience of operator environments which allows us to seamlessly integrate with existing OSS and BSS systems."
